En magisk aften i Tivoli! Denne nye samling byder på live- og studieoptagelser af lette orkestrale valse og polkaer, inklusive de største hits fra den danske valsekonge, H.C. Lumbye. Flere studieoptagelser fra 1940'erne får deres første udgivelse på CD.
CD2 byder på en hidtil upubliceret livekoncert, der sendtes direkte fra Tivoli, hvor københavnerne har nydt afslapning og underholdning lige siden 1843. Thomas Jensen leder Tivoliorkestret med samme autoritet, som han tilførte sine klassiske indspilninger af Nielsen og Sibelius.
